Mrs. Mackie Lou Martin, age 76, of Lyons died Thursday, January 7, 2016 at The Oaks at Bethany of Vidalia following an extended illness.
Mrs. Martin was a native of Appling County, living most of her life in Toombs County as a homemaker.
Mrs. Martin is preceded in death by her husband, Maxwell Martin (2014); son, Maxwell Dennis Martin (1961); brother, Earlon Mock; and sisters, Nora Smith and Joann Brown.
Mrs. Martin is survived by her daughter, Karen Blackmon and husband Ed of Lyons; brother, Ottis Rogers; sister, Janell Mock; grandson, Chad Newman of Hazlehurst; and one granddaughter, Lauren Newman of Lyons.
Graveside services for Mrs. Mackie Lou Martin will be held on Sunday, January 10, 2016, at 3:00 pm at Harden’s Chapel Cemetery with Dr. William Vansant officiating. The family will receive friends at the Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Lyons Chapel Sunday afternoon from 1:30 until 2:30.
