Mr. Wallace E. Denmark, age 78, a long time resident of Toombs County passed away, Tuesday June 10, 2014 at Community Hospice after an extended illness.
He was a retired welder among other trades as well. He grew up in the Uvalda area and resided in Montgomery County for the past 30 or 35 years. He was a member of Vidalia First Assembly of God Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Matilda Denmark; four brothers, Michael Denmark, Fred Denmark, Robert Demark and Clarence Denmark; three sisters, Mary Lou Dupree, Jeanette White and Cora Lee Neesmith and two sons, Alton Eugene Denmark and James Wallace Denmark.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dorothy Jean Denmark; one son, Richard A. Denmark and daughter in law Linda Denmark; one daughter, Caritia Lynn Birkheimer, all of Higgston; two granddaughters, Krysta M. Lechtenberg of Peer Belgium and Deana N. Birkheimer of Higgston; one grandson and granddaughter in law Michael Davis and Joanna Davis; one great granddaughter Chloe Lechtenberg and two great grandsons, Jeremy Davis and Jarrett Davis. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services for Mr. Wallace E. Denmark will be held Friday, June 13, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Vidalia First Assembly of God with David Knight officiating. Interment will follow in Harden’s Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6-8pm.
