Mrs. Lucile Ford Thigpen, age 89, of Swainsboro died early Saturday morning, November 16, 2013 at St. Josephs/Candler Hospital of Savannah after a brief illness.
Mrs. Thigpen was a native of Toombs County, lived for many years in Baxley, and had resided in Swainsboro since 2010. She was a retired seamstress with 30 plus years of service with Miller Western wear in Baxley. She was Baptist by faith.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Thigpen, ten siblings, and her son-in-law Bobby Morris.
Mrs. Thigpen is survived by three daughters, Genell Morris of Vidalia, Shirley Riner and her husband Denny of Swainsboro, Faye Patrick and her husband Lewis of Vidalia; five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Lucile Ford Thigpen will be held Monday, November 18, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Ronnie L. Stewart Funeral Service Chapel of Vidalia with Reverend Brian Patrick and Reverend Barry Teutsch officiating. Interment will follow in Harden’s Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 5 -8 pm.
The family will gather at the residence of her grandson, Darrell Morris, at 3751 Cedar Crossing Vidalia Road.
